This project started from a call for submissions for 6th Border Biennial, a more than decade-long binational collaboration between the El Paso Museum of Art and the Museo de Arte de Ciudad Juárez. This XL paleta was created as a gallery piece for the show, and upon it being cancelled due to the US outbreak of COVID-19, I wanted to find a way to put this work out into the world in a impactful way. I launched the fundraiser using part of my stimulus check as a way to raise money for who were denied a check. The launch of the online fundraiser consisted of many artists volunteering their time and supplies to bring relief to our people and raise funds for those organizations fighting for immigrant justice. Your contribution will help us continue to make art for social justice.
